ROOTED IN YIDDISH LANGUAGE AND DIASPORIC CULTURES.
Burikes (bu-ri-kes, meaning “beets” in Yiddish), is a six-piece band based in so-called Northampton that plays klezmer, Balkan, and Eastern European music. Rooted in a love for Yiddish language and diasporic cultures, Burikes brings people and communities together to dance and sing with driving rhythms, three-part harmonies, and lyrics to welcome in a besere velt.
